Former Sens player Zdeno Chara lifts the Stanley Cup

My first thought, I wonder what John Muckler and Wade Redden were up to tonight. We sure did screw up that free agency period didn't we. It hurts a little bit more tonight, though I was happy to see Vancouver lose. Don't worry, they're already looting and rioting according to early reports, so at least one aspect of the city decided to show up tonight.

Shoutout to Peter Chiarelli, the former assistant Sens GM, who is now the head man in Boston. Also glad we never promoted him, he clearly doesn't know what he's doing right? I was happy to see former Sen Chris Kelly, who was traded this year, win the cup. So at least that's something to take away from a division rival winning the championship. I wasn't too happy to see former Leaf Thomas Kaberle win though, but he was so unimportant I barely remembered he was on the team.

In a lot of respects, this was the end of my hate for Zdeno Chara and the way he left Ottawa. Sure he may have left under questionable circumstances that were half Muckler's fault and half his, but you know what, I was happy to see him so happy when he lifted the cup too. Zdeno, welcome back. You are no longer on my list.

This one also had be cracking up, a nod to the LeBron comments from a few days ago. Also loving that people are now calling Bobby Lou, LeBrongo. Classic!

So that's the 2010-11 NHL season. We had some good times didn't we? Even if the Sens didn't exactly light it up, it's always fun to watch and debate, and the draft is in less than 10 days, followed by free agency, so we will get a look at what our team may look like in the comings weeks.

Just remember, only 100 days until opening night.
