Daugavins Returning To Europe

Kaspars Daugavins at the Calder Cup Championship Parade
Binghamton Senators forward Kaspars Daugavins is returning to Europe, signing with Dinamo Riga of the Kontinental Hockey League. The Latvian native will be playing for his hometown team in Riga, where he was born. He was only part of the Sens orgnaization for 2 seasons, registering a very respectable 100 points even in 145 career games in the AHL.

He was a key member of the Calder Cup winning Binghamton team this year, but will likely be remembered in Sens lore for his memroable quotes and care free attitude. I was told however that he made the move because he simply wanted to play in his home country, which is the reason for the move.

Thanks to a great source I was able to let you all know about this 5 days earlier on twitter, so be sure to follow me to get the latest information on all the Sens players and prospects. You can follow me @SensTown

Thoughts on Daugavins leaving the organization?
