The We're Half Way Through The Offseason Links

Bryan Murray at a media scrum at the 2011 NHL Draft in Minnesota
The NHL draft is over, the free agent "frenzy" is a but a memory, and the offseason is half over already. As expected, BM the GM didn't do much via the free agent market, and with such a weak class I'm more than happy with what we did, or should I say what we didn't do. The point of a rebuild is to slowly restock your team, this is chess not checkers after all.

The offseason is a weird time for someone like me as well. You can go a week or more with practically no news at all, and then 4 stories in a day (like yesterday). So as always, here are some of the stories that slipped through the cracks, or weren't worthy of an entire post, but still worth checking out. Enjoy the latest edition of the links.

-First up for all my french peoples out there. You're in luck, getting 25 games on french TV.

-If you ever read any of my tweets or get the chance to talk hockey with me, you know I hate the Canucks, especially their fans (way before the riot). Well even I have to admit this is a pretty crazy/funny story.

-Consider the way we tend to remember him, you may be very suprised to see who sits atop the list of best statistical goalie of all time in the playoffs.

-Looking to hear a little bit more from new HC Paul MacLean? Here's an interview. I have to say I really like the cit of his jib.

-Everytime we play Tampa, I'm quick to tell anyone that it is absolutely the most boring city I have ever visited. It appears their fans are just as bad. This is so lame.

-For once in my life I agree with Dean Brown.

-Times are tough, even for hall of famer's.

-Considering the stat I showed you at the start of this post, this is kinda funny.

-Now this is a big fan.

-If you thought the Boston Bruins bar tab after winning the cup was bad, look at this. It comes from Vegas and it was all world talents like Joffrey Lupol. Insane!

-In case you missed it, check out one of the best goals you will ever see.

-Why am I not surprised at all that the media ran with this.

-Before he signed with the Oilers, Ryan Keller and Barry Brust threw out the first pitch at a minor league game to honor the Calder Cupo win.

-This made me like Carrie Underwood more and at the same time made me think of about 10000000000 jokes.

-Some more, mostly very bad Sens jersey concepts.

-Simply awesome!

-On the other side, simply awful !

-Another attempt to be hip by mainstream media that didn't work out.

-I'm gonna take drunk hockey fans over pro baseball players everyday and twice on Sundays.

-This was pretty well done by the Tampa fan I must concede.

-A Canadien turns down the Canadians. Kind of a sellout move if you ask me.

-Sens prospect Stephane Da Costa with a questionable hit.

-See Vancouver, it's not that hard now is it.

-Now that is an old Sens fan, who was around for the original Senators dynasty.

-Here's a video of new Sens prospect Jean Gabriel Pageau

-Oh the Islanders, is there anything they can't do?

-I may have taken this seriously, if A) the writer knew what he was talking about and rated things realistically, and B) the writer knew that we picked ahead of the Jets, not the other way around. Embarrassing.

-Former original Senator Norm MacIver has been promoted in the Chicago organization.

-For all of you Sandler fans, this was pretty cool.

-The list of top jersey sellers is out and the list is about what you'd expect, except that there are no players from a Canadian team.

-Time for a running diary of the 2011 NHL draft. Love the pic of Sens Town buddy James Duthie at the top haha.

-Want to see some hockey magic? Watch this and around the 7 second mark something appears out of nowhere seemingly.

-Seems there's quite the connection between the Ottawa Senators and Peoria Rivermen. Who knew.

-Want to ask new Sen Nikita Filatov a question? I got your back, here you go.

-And finally, Sens Town got a bit of love on Ottawa Start.
