The Training Camp Is Here Links

David Rundblad at training camp
The official start to the new season is here, training camp! I for one am very excited to see how all the youngin's progress and in a selfish way, I'm glad that I have actual news and things to talk about instead of having to manufacture things to discuss for 5 months. The Sens have 60 players in camp which is massive, so I had to keep up and give you a massive version of the links. As always here are stories from all over that may have fallen through the cracks. Enjoy the latest edition.

-First up is a really cool piece on Mika Zibanejad and his father. The rook is lookin' very good so far and it's getting more likely that he has a legit shot at making the big club.

-Former Senator and all around great guy Chris Kelly when he brought the cup to CHEO this summer.

-Speaking of the B's and Lord Stanley, they had a very strong Ottawa connection in that organization.

-I don't care what anyone says about Sean Avery. He always makes me laugh.

-Our frenemies at PPP have the entire Orr-Carkner series for your pleasure.

-Rough but true! If only the former 2 time Sen had a rich wife or dad he could live off instead. Poor guy.

-A motivated Jason Spezza is definitely not a bad thing.

-It still seems like a ridiculous rip off.

-There may be some new rules in the bear future. Take a look at them here before they become official.

-Cool to see that Jason was improving this summer. He is keeping good company these days.

-Ah Kovalev, the gift that keeps giving, even after you've thrown it away.

-Thank god! I mean Alfie. Praise him even.

-Alexandre Daigle makes a rare appearance in the links.

-Rookie tournament OT winning goal scorer Mark Stone is having a big offseason.

-This is lame but awesome but sad but lame. Update the family did not get the money in the end.

-A really good piece by Sens buddy Peter over at Silver Seven on fighting in the NHL.

-Interesting. I always wondered what happened to him.

-Only on Long Island.

-This is still so sad. I feel awful for everyone affected.

-It's still a bit much, especially for a used chair but it is pretty sweet to watch the away games on.

-Another former Senator, albeit a brief one, retired.

-This could end up being a sloppy adventure. Perfect for a bachelor party.

-A cool video of the opening on HNIC for our very first game in 1992. Nostalgia can be awesome soemtimes.

-One of my favorite people in hockey: Duthie on Sept 11th.

-Some crazy pictures of the flooding in Binghamton. Including one of where the BSens play.

-A crazy story and a decision that saved his life.

-Former Sen Pavol Demitra made TMZ for all the wrong reasons. And here's player reactions to the tragedy.

-A cool tribute to the champs.

-A fan made video on the upcoming season.

-The BSens are playing one game at SBP again.

-Speaking of Bingo, here's a piece on Corey Locke trying to make it to the NHL. Sorry Corey, not happening but have a killer season in Bingo for us.

-A nice reward for an Ottawa native.

-I guess Taylor Hall has been working on his game as well.

-Normally I have nothing positive to say about Winnipeg but this is AWESOME!

-With all the deaths surrounding some of the NHL's tough guys this summer, new Sen Zenon Konopka weighs in with his point of view on the matter.

-A cool idea. Try and support it if you can.

-This is pretty bad ass, especially for only $45.

-Hurricane schmurricane. THIS is pretty awesome.

-Interviews from the team 1200 featuing Bingo coach Kurt Kleinendorst, original Senator Brad Marsh and 6th overall pick Mika Zibanejad.

-Ottawa native and former dancer at Sens games, Cameron Hughes getting it in at the US open.

-Understatement of the year!!!!!!!!!!!

-And the Sens come in 2nd last.

-This is corny, even for morning radio.

-Once again, only in Long Island.

-Vintage Grapes.

-Three Sens players made the top 100 in fantasy hockey.

-As Yoda would say, do or do not, there is no try. Either way, I don't see it happening.

-The top 20 prospects in our organization in 2010-11. See how things have changed in a year.

-Fairly accurrate in this preview but remember that me and the author got into a twitter war last year because he thought the Avs robbed us in the Elliott/Anderson swap. Just thought you needed to know who's maing predictions and assessments of our team.

-Cool picture in the SI vault featuring the Sens. Ignore Wade Redden.

-This is amazing. Hopefully we'll have the opportunity to do something like this one day.

-Seeing what former Sen Marian Hossa is up to this offseason.

-Former Sen Ron Tugnutt has a new gig.

-Uh oh! Shouldn't be having kids when you're unemployed.

-Some more Sens chairty work. Good job as always.

-One more Bruins Cup story. Admire the amazing design of that site. Breathtaking.

-A post game interview from new Sens coach Paul MacLean's son AJ. Amazing production value once again.

-And finally, this has absolutely nothing to do with hockey or Ottawa, I just found it amusing.
