GDP #3: 2011-12 Home Opener V North Stars

The Sens home opener is finally here. Ottawa is looking to get in the win column for the first time in the young season, and who else better to get the W on than Dany Heatley, who oh ya, is back at SBP for the second time in case you haven't heard. To be honest, I'm over the Heatley thing. It was fun last year, we'll boo him tonight, but I've moved on for the most part. It's a quick GDP because I'm racing to get out to SBP on time today.

There are a few changes to the lineup tonight, as Nikita Filatov, Bobby Butler (again) and Brian Lee are all healthy scratches, which means David Rundblad will make his NHL debut tonight vs Minnesota. Also making his debut this year is the frustrating Peter Jensen, I mean Regin. Craig Anderson starts in net.

Here are your lines for tonight:
  • Greening-Spezza-Zibanejad
  • Michalek-Da Costa-Alfredsson
  • Foligno-Regin-Neil
  • Smith-Konopka-Condra
and the defensive pairings will be:
  • Phillips-Rundblad
  • Kuba-Karlsson
  • Cowen-Gonchar

Local Flavor: Of course the return of ex-Sen Dany Heatley.

Prediction: I have no idea what to expect. We've played 2 horrendous first 2 periods and then battled back for 2 excellent 3rds. I guess that's what should be expected with this young team. I feel a win coming on, 4-2 Sens. Zibanejad gets his first NHL goal too.

There will be a photo diary of opening night coming tomorrow and I will be live tweeting and posting pics live from SBP all night so follow me on twitter for all the latest @SensTown
