There are reports going around today that there are a couple teams that have offered Edwin Jackson a 3 year deal. The Red Sox refuse to go above one, so Jackson's decision is between going to the tough AL East for one year and try free agency again next year when he will still be only 30, or sign a 3 year deal.
If he wants a chance to win next year then the Red Sox seem to be his best bet. The other teams that seem to be offering longer term deals (Orioles) will not be in the hunt. Yet, as a guy who really wants him to come here I am worried that this is looking less and less likely to happen, and with Oswalt basically wanting no part of Boston I am not a fan of what the Red Sox have done this offseason.
