Roughly six months after dropping significant plot details, Dan Aykroyd has an update about Ghostbusters 3 and the likelihood of Bill Murray. Speaking with Empire, the actor hints that the former could end up being played by a different actor altogether.
"We communicate frequently and his position on the involvement in 'Ghostbusters 3' has been made clear and I respect that," says Aykroyd, who the magazine also claims suggested a possible "Jack Ryan" style recasting (Comingsoon.net)."
Fuck that. There is no Ghostbusters without Bill Murray. If he doesn't want to do it, then you don't do the movie. I would love to see a new Ghostbusters, but if he's not in it then you just have to just let a good thing just be a good thing from the past. The last thing I want to see is a half-assed Ghostbusters movie after having to sit through the abomination that was Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
