DP touched on this earlier, but if you haven't heard Jeff Green hasn't been practicing with the Celtics because of an undisclosed injury. Something showed up when he went through his physical for his new contract, so the Celtics are said to be sending follow up tests.
The rumors of what could be wrong with Green are a bit all over the place. There are some reports that are saying that he is experiencing fatigue, and some have said it could be something to do with his heart. That's never good news, but I have to caution that these are all rumors and Green has said they are not true.
I agree with DP though, and I am getting very concerned about this. The Celtics have a short preseason as it is, and no one could use the practice time more then Green. He looked so out of sync with the rest of the Celtics and if he is ever going to capitalize on his potential he needs to be getting out there and getting used to Doc's system. All we can do is sit back and hope for the best.
***UPDATE***
Well this certainly doesn't sound good...
"Jeff Green still isn't practicing with the team and the Celtics say they will know more about the results of his physical on Friday afternoon. "He’s completing all tests and results and we should know more [Friday] afternoon," team president Danny Ainge said. "Everything. We’ll wait until then to give you guys all that information."
Asked if the results from his physical were in, Ainge said that they were but when asked whether there was good news or bad news, Ainge said, "It’s all based on perspective. I really don’t want to talk about that. It's not fair for me to share Jeff's information with you right now."
"I’ll give you guys more [Friday] for sure but I’ve been around long enough to know if you haven’t passed your physical yet, there’s something going on," Doc Rivers said (WEEI)."
