89 Bulls, 80 Celtics

I'm pissed. I try to see everything in a positive light and try to build on even losses, but the passed couple of games have killed me. I don't know, I don't know what is going to happen with the team.

I'm in full panic mode right now, there is no way that Danny Ainge is not going to blow the team up and trade my favorite player in Rondo. This loss is completely inexcusable, well, I guess so was the Detroit loss too. But fuck man.

How do we score only 80 points? How is our offense so bad? We have scorers, we have players that are all star caliber, how are we so bad? I'm at a loss of words right now and depressed.

I fear March big time.

Celtics @ Bulls Preview

The Celtics were able to beat the Rose-less Bulls in Boston last weekend, it seems like the Bulls will be playing without their star again tonight. I am having a really hard time writing this preview, because I don't know if KG is going to play tonight. If he plays I think the Celtics have a good chance to win, because when he is out there he makes this Celtics defense one of the best in the NBA, but when he isn't this is just a different team.

I am expecting Pierce and Allen to show up tonight after that disgusting performance last night. Rondo should once again put up God-like stats with no Rose on the court. Still, I think this could be a very tough game for the Celtics. They are playing back-to-back games, on the road, and the last time they beat this team the Bulls they shot 38.6 percent, committed 13 turnovers and still only lost by 4.

Once again, if KG plays I give the Celtics a chance, but if he doesn't I think this could get ugly. I know DP gets pissed when I pick the Celtics to lose, but sorry I don't see them winning this game. Hopefully I am wrong.

Bulls win 89-85

Kim Kardashian Trying To Date Jeremy Lin

Kim Kardashian and Jeremy Lin aren’t dating. But Kim Kardashian, Jeremy Lin dating reports are being sought by Kardashian’s publicity machine, claims a new report. Kardashian’s public relations team allegedly wants Kim Kardashian to be seen dating Jeremy Lin.

A new report today claims that the Kardashian-Jenner public relations team wants Kim Kardashian and Jeremy Lin dating now. Kardashian has usually tried to stay away from “Lindsanity”; but now she allegedly wants to a part of “Linsanity”. The report claims that the pr team has already envisioned a double date with Karsdashian-Lin and Carmelo Anthony with his wife. “Kim’s publicist arranged for her to go on a “date” with NY Knicks player Jeremy Lin” claims the report today.

Please Jermey Lin don't do this. That family is the devil. It's all publicity, and I really just hope this skank gets hit by a train or something. The whole family is just a bunch of skanks selling themselves for a buck (well much more than that, but you get the point).

If prostitution is illegal, then the Kardashians should be illegal.

98 Pistons, 88 Celtics

This would have been a great win, but the injuries and defensive lapses killed them. The story of the game had they won would have been Rajon Rondo who was the only person who was being aggressive. Rondo finished with 35 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. He shot 15 for 27 from the field and was just on fire. Wilcox and Jujuan Johnson had decent games as well with 17 and 10. Pierce and Allen were non existent.

This game felt like what could potentially happen after the big 3 is gone. Rondo did everything in his power to win and everyone else was mediocre. I don't know what is going on with Pierce but this is the 2nd straight stinker he has put up with 10 points on 3-11 shooting, but I wonder if it has to do with Rondo's big game. I have hinted at it before but it seems when Rondo has a monster scoring game, Pierce has a bad game. I wonder if it's coincidence, I hope so. Because if it is the issue, then that explains a lot when Rondo only has 10ish points and defers the ball the whole game.

Ben Gordan killed us and the play that killed us was when Avery Bradly for some reason decided to double team Greg Monroe and leave Ben Gordan (who has been on fire) wide open at the 3. That play put the Pistons in the lead for good and gave them all the motivation. After that Pierce/ Allen couldn't get a shot.

This loss really annoys me. Especially since it's before a long, tough road trip.

Pistons @ Celtics Preview

As I noted earlier KG and Pietrus are doubtful for the game tonight, Bass is still out and Jermaine is questionable. That is going to leave the Celtics pretty thin up front. Still, with Allen, Pierce and Rondo on the court I don't see the Celtics losing the lowly Pistons.

Pistons are just 8-22 on the season, the Celtics have won six of seven overall against Detroit and four in a row at home. Rondo should have a huge game. Stuckey/Knight are a decent PGs, but not on the level of Rondo. The question is whether or not Rondo feels like turning on the jets. I say he doesn't and the Celtics lean on Pierce to win tonight. Prince had the length to give him trouble, so I expect this game to actually be pretty close.

The main storyline for me is to see the young guys (especially Johnson) get some playing time. I really feel they are going to be important if the Celtics are going to make any kind of playoff run.

Why Not?

Why not watch the legend of Lin continue to grow?

Celtics Injury List Growing

Doc Rivers told reporters in Waltham where the Celtics were conducting practice that Kevin Garnett (hip flexor) and Mickael Pietrus (knee) are both "doubtful" for Wednesday's game against the Pistons at TD Garden.

You add them to a list that already had Bass (knee) and Jermaine O'Neal (vagina). The Celtics are just a banged up team. To be honest though, I think this could be a good thing for the Celtics. It's going to force Doc to play guys like JaJuan Johnson, because the Celtics are just go thin up front right now, and the Celtics are going to need him to get some experience for later in the year.

Doc has said they may be forced to go small, since the only big men left on healthy on the roster are on Wilcox, Stiemsma, Johnson, and perhaps Jermaine. You might actually see Bradley and Rondo on the court together tonight trying to trap, which could take some pressure off their big men. I am honestly interested to see what they will do tonight, because the NBA season is kind of boring and I would like to see more of these young guys to see if they have a future, but even more than that see if they could add a spark when the Celtics are in the playoffs.

Celtics Still In Running For Howard?

"I honestly think the Celtics believe they are not out of the running for a guy like Dwight Howard," Mannix said of the Orlando center, who is eligible for free agency after the season. "I know Boston believes they can't get him in a trade, but I really believe the Celtics think they can sell Dwight Howard on the city and on the team if he makes it to free agency. … And Boston, to be honest with you, they've got a pretty good pitch. They can tell him they have Rajon Rondo in place, a great point guard, a top-five point guard, Paul Pierce under contract for the next few years and all this cap space to give him a max deal. I think Boston has a real chance to make a strong pitch to Dwight Howard if he makes it to free agency (WEEI)."

I think the Celtics have a pretty good pitch, but it seems like Howard has had him mind made up, and that he will go to either the Nets, Lakers, or Mavs. I also think the Celtics aren't going to be able to wait till the end of the year. The Magic HAVE TO trade him before he becomes a free agent. They can't just let him walk out the door and get nothing in return.

A core of Howard, Pierce, and Rondo would be pretty awesome (except free throws at the end of games), but I really just don't see it happening.

Floyd Mayweather Criticizes Jeremy Lin Hype

"Jeremy Lin is a good player but all the hype is because he's Asian. Black players do what he does every night and don't get the same praise," Mayweather wrote on his Twitter account.

"Its OK for ESPN to give their opinion but I say something and everyone questions Floyd Mayweather," the boxer tweeted. "I'm speaking my mind on behalf of other NBA players. They are programmed to be politically correct and will be penalized if they speak up. Other countries get to support/cheer their athletes and everything is fine. As soon as I support Black American athletes, I get criticized."

Ugh, you knew someone was going to do it. Someone was going to take this great story and have to make it somehow racist. Is Lin's popularity tied at all to race? Yes, of course. We haven't really had an Asian player take over games, other then Yao and he was a big man not a PG. So sure, it has to do with race because it's something we haven't seen before, like when Tiger exploded onto the golf scene. People get excited when something different comes around.

Plus, I don't think this is all tied to basketball. This is a guy who came out of nowhere. I mean he went to Harvard, was cut by 2 teams, and now is dropping 30+ points a night in the NBA. Not too many stories like that come around. Gilbert Arenas was kind of like it, and I remember "Agent 0" getting a ton of hype.

So you know what Mayweather, why don't you just leave the kid alone and let everyone enjoy this? We all love an underdog story and this is nothing more than that. Sit in your house, talk to yourself and the 3rd person and prepare for jail.

95 Boston, 91 Bulls

I don't care that the Bulls were without Derek Rose, beating the best team in the NBA is still impressive. After Rondo getting thrown under the bus for the past week it was good to see him shut up all of his critics with putting on a stellar triple double performance.

Rajon Rondo is my favorite player on the team, he does frustrate me with inconsistency and I don't understand how he doesn't have these numbers every game. Last night Rondo slashed, passed and rebounded like a machine and finished up with 32 points, 15 assists and 10 rebounds. He was an absolute monster, and when he plays aggressive like that, Kobe, Rose or CP3 wouldn't be able to slow him down. Best thing about last night he shot (10-13 from the line)

Hopefully this is the tipping point for him, where he realizes this is now HIS team and he needs to be the focal point.

The underlying story is that when Rondo plays like this Pierce suffers a bit and last night was no exception. The Truth finished with 9 points, and shot 4-10. Maybe he just had a bad game and I'm reading too much into this.

KG had a good double double with 13 points and 12 boards and Jujuan Johnson continues to impress me with chipping in 12 points himself.

Good win

Celtics @ Raptors Preview

It was a tough night for the Celtics last night, and I hate back-to-back games because of the Celtics age. Saying that, the Celtics have showed time and again that they are good at bouncing back from losses. Boston won four in a row following a 79-71 loss to Phoenix on Jan. 20, then posted five straight victories after an 88-87 defeat against Cleveland on Jan. 29. Playing the Raptors never hurts either.

The Celtics have played the Raptors twice already this year, and neither game has been close (BOS 96-73, and BOS 100-64). I think this game will be a bit closer after the Celtics have had to travel, and coming off an emotional loss.

Why Not?

Why not think... "Wow, that reminds me of KG trying to dunk?"

Lakers 88 Celtics 87 (OT)

Pretty crazy that this game went to OT, and yet neither team was able to break 90 points, but that's what happens when you have two of the best defensive teams in the league playing each other.

We can go over the last second shot by Pierce, or how Gasol blocked the Allen shot right after, but the story of this game was rebounding. Gasol and Bynum combined for 31 rebounds, that is almost as much as the entire Celtics starting 5.

Another story of the game is the back the Celtics only went to the line 5 times during the game, while the Lakers went 20 times. I would usually go crazy about refs, but I felt like the Celtics weren't getting to the basket. There was absolutely some missed calls, but for a guy like Rondo to be lined up against Fisher and only have a stat line of 14 points, 7 assists and 2 rebs just isn't good enough.

What also didn't help is KG going 6-23, but I am not going to get on him too hard, because I like when he is taking shots. I feel a lot of times he goes away from that and with this Celtics team and their struggles on offense they need him to be a weapon night in and night out.

I know the Celtics haven't beaten a "great team" yet, but this is a really tough matchup for them. There are not a lot of teams that have big guys like Gasol and Bynum, and to see the Celtics really have a chance to win this game actually gave me hope for the rest of the season. Peirce/KG won't shoot that bad again, so I think they could take this team.

Celtics get back at it tonight against the Raptors.

PF P. Gasol 16.4K. Garnett 14.0
C A. Bynum 17.1J. O'Neal 5.4

During the Celtics hot streak where they have won 9 of 10 people have been poo pooing it due to lack of competition (even though they have beaten Orlando twice, Pacers and Grizzlies), so tonight will be a big game in the eyes of the media (even though the Lakers have struggled too) to give the Celtics credit. I'll be at the game court side, so I really hope I get to watch Kobe lose.

The Celtics bigmen will be pushed today. Jermaine O'Neal will probably get a technical and most likely will get into a pushing match with Andrew Bynum. But I like the way Jermaine has been playing defense and rebounding recently, so I think he and Chris Wilcox will be holding their own. KG does a good job against Gasol and like when we play them in the finals, if KG can push him around he will wilt.

Then there is the Kobe/ Pierce match up which is always fun. Both are elite scorers, but Kobe has been struggling shooting and regressing into shoot the Lakers out of the game recently. Now that Pierce has Birds record, he will be relaxed and play a better game.

Rondo should push it against Fisher every time he has the ball, this is the only match up where we have a HUGE advantage. If Rondo can not only create, but attack the basket I like the green.

Look for me, I'll be the one jumping on the court and hugging KG at the end of the game.

I think all teams should do this

Clippers Lose Billups For Season

Los Angeles Clippers guard Chauncey Billups suffered a torn left Achilles tendon Monday night and will miss the remainder of the season. Really a tough break for him as he was 14.9 points and 4.0 assists a game for the Clippers. They are going to have Randy Foye replace him in the starting lineup, but it will be Mo Williams that will have to pick up the slack as that #2, which I think he can do.

Still a big loss for a team that is in 2nd place in the Western Conference. My personal opinion is that the Lakers, Spurs, and maybe even the Nuggets and Mavs will all pass them in the standings.

Billups says he has no plan on retiring.

God I Miss Perkins

I wasn't the biggest Perkins fan. I was against the trade, but overall nothing about Perkins made me love him, but now looking back I like that he was just an angry dude. It seems like little has changed as he takes shots at LeBron...

"Perkins then found himself on Twitter, where James, among others, could not contain his amazement over what he had seen.

"Dunk of the Year! @blakegriffin just dunked on Kendrick Perkins so hard!!! Wow! I guess I'm No. 2 now. Move over #6," James tweeted, apparently referring to his own dunk the day before over Chicago Bulls point guard John Lucas III being relegated behind Griffin's poster-quality jam.

Perkins told Yahoo! Sports that he didn't appreciate that.

"You don't see Kobe (Bryant) tweeting," Perkins said, according to the report. "You don't see Michael Jordan tweeting. If you're an elite player, plays like that don't excite you.

"At the end of the day, the guys who are playing for the right reasons who are trying to win championships are not worrying about one play. They also are not tweeting about themselves talking about going down to No. 2," Perkins added, according to the report. "I just feel [James] is always looking for attention and he wants the world to like him (ESPN)."

Ya damn right Perkins. Remember when LeBron had everyone take the tapes of him being dunked on? Remember how LeBron is suddenly friends with Tebow, because Tebow is popular?

Perkins was spot on with his comments. LeChoke is so worried about his "legacy" and "image" that it makes him shrink to nothing in the 4th quarter. He will never be what Kobe or Jordan were. Those guys didn't give a fuck, all that mattered was winning.

Miss ya Perk!

94 Celtics, 84 Bobcats

Although it wasn't the prettiest game, It is pretty awesome that Paul Pierce is now the Celtics 2nd All-Time leading scorer. Pierce didn't have the best scoring stats, but had 15 points, 8 rebounds, 9 assists. The funny thing about the play in which Paul Pierce hit the three, is on the next defensive possession Jermaine O'Neal celebrated the achievement by getting a technical. Once he passed it, they played a tribute video and he thanked the crowd.

As for the game, it was a collective effort with 4 out of 5 starters in double figures and Brandon bass scoring 13. Kevin Garnett led the team with 22 points and 7 rebounds, while Ray had 17 and Rondo had 10 points and 14 assists. Kevin Garnett has been on fire, he should absolutely be an all star reserve and is a different player than he was in the beginning of the year.

They played decent defense and have now one 5 straight and 9-10. On another note, the Celtics guaranteed Greg Steimsma's contract so he will be around for the rest of the year. he brings some toughness to the team.

Celtics vs Bobcats Preview

Finally we can watch the most successful franchise in Boston's history led by the best coach in Boston Doc Rivers vs the lowly Bobcats led by the worst GM in basketball Michael Jordan.

Depth Chart

Charlotte (PPG)
Boston (PPG)
PG D. Augustin 13.6R. Rondo 13.8
SG G. Henderson 15.0R. Allen 14.7
SF T. Thomas 7.5P. Pierce 18.6
PF B. Diaw 8.5K. Garnett 13.7
C D. Diop 1.1J. O'Neal 5.6

This is also an awesome game because Paul Pierce is surely going to break Larry Birds record for points in a Celtics uniform. Think about that for a second? Not only has Paul Pierce cemented himself in Celtics hierarchy forever already he is about to pass one of the biggest legends in Boston in Larry Bird. That's pretty impressive. Pierce just won the player of the month for January so I expect him to do great things against Gerald Henderson or Tyrus Thomas.

The Celtics have been really clicking lately and have gone 7-1 in the last 8 and with a healthy Rondo they should have no problem beating the 3-21 Bobcats. Normally in past years the Bobcats have given the Celtics a tough game, but since they are so bad I expect this to be a blow out. One of the better things that may have happened to this team is that Avery Bradley was such a defensive stopper in Rondo's absence, that it has motivated Rondo to be more of a nuisance on that end of the court.

KG has gone 3-3 from 3 in the last 3 games, I don't know if that it's a good thing, but lets see how long this streak goes.

Celtics 98-65

Melo Out 1-2 Weeks

The Knicks announced today Carmelo Anthony is out 1-2 weeks with a strained right groin. So Linsanity better be sustainable or the Knicks could come completely apart. DP hates Melo. I used to be a big fan from his time at Cuse, but even I have to admit he has been terrible for this team. He shoots too much, and just hasn't been a good addition at all. So, maybe this is a good thing for the Knicks and they can find some offensive rythm with guys like Jeremy Lin, who is coming off 2 straight games of 25+ points.

If the Knicks win without Melo it might be time to start looking to deal him. I know that sounds crazy, but they are a better team without him.
