It's kind of funny that former Red Sox coach is taking over Bobby Valentine's spot on ESPN's Baseball Tonight figuring Valentine aka The Savior is taking over his spot as the Red Sox manager.
It's also funny that Francona wasn't fit to coach any other teams but ESPN obviously doesn't care as they get these guys like Michael Irvin, Matthew Barnaby and other people who have dealt with substance abuse.
I can't blame Francona for joining the crew, he needs to keep his name in the media for a year to try and shake off what some people think are vicious rumors spread by the Red Sox organization. I don't know how he will do as an analyst, but I can guarantee one thing, he will bash the Red Sox every opportunity he gets. Which is a shame because we took Terry with a career losing record and not one winning season and won him 2 championships.
