Miami Marlins Sign Jose Reyes

I'm not a giant Jose Reyes guy, but I love the fact the Marlins are going balls to the wall with the free agents this year. The All-Star shortstop became the second top free agent to land with the Marlins, agreeing Sunday night to a $106 million, six-year contract. Jose was injured last year but still put together a great season with batting .337, 7 home runs, 44 rbis and 39 SBs.

This is a great move by the Marlins who can now fill Hanley Ramirez at 3rd and have the most exciting left side of the infield in baseball. People are going to speculate that this may be the end for Hanley, who has been playing short the passed couple years, but he has simply outgrown the position. The Marlins are getting Josh Johnson back, they signed Heath Bell, have Ozzie Guillen as their coach and now have Jose Reyes pretty good offseason so far. There are rumors that they are going to go after Albert Pujols next, which I don't think will happen, but it's cool that they are trying.
