I know Matt Latos is only 24 and has a ton of potential, however, getting Cincinnati gave up infielder Yonder Alonso and catcher Yasmani Grandal -- both first-round picks -- along with starting pitcher Edinson Volquez is absolutely ridiculous.
Latos' record of 27-29 can be attributed to playing in San Diego, but an era of 3.37 and getting around 185 Ks a year is good, but not elite enough to get that package.
Alonso may be a little overrated as a prospect, but he is really good and makes old friend Anthony Rizzo expendable in SD. I really like Grandal, he came out of The U last year, and he's going to be really good. Edison Volquez hasn't been great since his 17 game winning season, but for some reason he will be able to turn it around.
Fucking Reds. As long as they put Aroldis Chapman in their rotation I will be happy.
