The hot rumor around the Red Sox today is that Daniel Bard will be thrown into the starting rotation next year. I am really hoping this isn't true. I hate switching guys from the bullpen to the rotation, and although there are cases where it works, I just don't see Bard as a starter.
To go along with that rumor there are reports the Red Sox are meeting with the A's today to discuss an Andrew Bailey trade. Even if the Red Sox were to get Bailey I still want Bard in the bullpen. I also want Aceves in the bullpen as well. I know starter are expensive, and the Red Sox have already been bleeding money from that position, but I think the Sox will be in a ton of trouble if Aceves and Bard are in the rotation.
