The NHL is talking about expanding because of the two seven-team and two eight-team conference format, which Rob discussed earlier. We might need to declare this the day of stupidity, after the Red Sox thinking of putting Bard AND Aceves in the rotation, and now this.
As Rob said earlier if the NHL needs to do anything it's get rid of some teams. The talent pool just can't support another 2 teams, and I would argue it doesn't support what it has now. I really enjoy the NHL, but this is just stupid.
The rumored cities are Quebec, Kansas City, Seattle, or maybe a 2nd team in Toronto. Quebec makes sense, and I think Seattle could too, but instead of adding teams they should move teams to these locations. Phoenix doesn't need a team, Florida doesn't need 2 teams, New York doesn't need 2 teams, Nashville doesn't need a team, so there are plenty of options.
