21 Alabama, 0 LSU

Much like the 1st game, Alabama dominated the game, but instead of missing field goals Jeremy Shelly hit 5/7 of them, to win the game.

Before I get to the defense, I need to to talk about the offense. Before the game I said in my prediction, (Speaking of McCarron) "If Saban let's AJ McCarron throw the ball and challenge the LSU defense every once in a while that will go a far way. Enough bubble screens to WRs and I want to see some shots down field." and "You can book this Alabama will roll over LSU easily tonight and the MVP of the game will be AJ McCarron."

And I was right in both cases, because although the Captain during the game said McCarron was only good for holding field goals and handing the ball off, he was the one reason they marched up and down the field to the tune of 23/34 for 234 yards and constantly made the right decisions. McCarron constantly picked on Tyrann Matheiu the whole game and made the "Honey Badger" look as bad as Ike Taylor. On a side note, Brent Musburger may have killed the Honey Badger nickname for the rest of my life, I swear he said it 50 times last night.

Trent Richardson's stats look alright, 96 yards, 1 TD but wasn't the biggest factor. For a lot of the game his back up Eddie Lacey was more of a threat. Richardson's lone touchdown of the game was the only touchdown scored in both games these two teams played.

Now for Alabama's historical defense.

The pro's lived up to their hype led by the linebackers Courtney Upshaw and Dont’a Hightower and DB Dre Kirkpatrick. Those linebackers made Jordan Jefferson's night miserable. He couldn't throw/run or do anything productive because how those guys were swarming. Dre Kirkpatrick shut down LSU WR Rueben Randle (like I predicted) for the 2nd straight game. Jefferson finished 11-of-17 with an interception, but just 53 passing yards. He was sacked four times.

To put Alabama's legendary defensive game in perspective; LSU didn't cross midfield until there were 8 minutes left in the game. The Tigers finished with just 92 yards and five first downs. That's really impressive.

Although some people may not have thought this game was exciting, I'm a big defensive person and thought this was a pretty awesome game.

The SEC has now won 6 consecutive championships, Nick Saban is now the only coach with 3 National Championships.
