The Oakland Raiders fired coach Hue Jackson today. A big reason for the firing is because Jackson basically ran the Raiders after Al Davis and pulled off that terrible trade for Carson Palmer. Oakland went 8-8 this season after a promising 7-4 start, ending its playoff chances by losing four of the final five games. The Raiders have missed the postseason for the last nine years, and seem to go through a different coach every year or so.
The trade for Palmer was terrible and I could see the new GM (Reggie McKenzie) wanting a fresh start, but at some point this franchise needs to pick a coach and stick with it. You can't build towards anything if you have a different philosophy waling through the door every year.
