MLB To Give Selig 2 Year Extension

"Baseball commissioner Bud Selig will be offered an extension to his current contract, a highly placed source said. Selig, 77, has one more year remaining on his current contract. He has previously said he intended to retire in 2012 (ESPN)."

WHY??????

I really don't get it. He was the commissioner during the lowest point in MLB history (steroid-era), and was part of the problem in covering it up. He made the All-Star game worth something, which has been a huge joke and is largely hated by fans. There is still no salary cap, and player contracts are still completely out of control. You have teams folding (Dodgers) and teams in serious trouble of doing the same (Mets, A's), and yet Selig remains.

What a joke, this guy has to go.
