Paul Pierce hit a huge 3 with 25 seconds to play to tie the game after the Celtics had been down most of the game. Then Dirk made KG look really old as he drove past him with about 5 secs left for the game winning layup.
To me there was only one bright spot in this game and that was Rondo. He had 24 points 7 assists and 3 rebs, but the best part is that he was "into the game" and when he does that the Celtics are a dangerous team. The problem was no one else seemed to be. That big shot by Pierce was only his 2nd basket of the night. He only attempted 5 shots all game, sorry but that's just never going to cut it. Pierce is the Celtics best scorer, he can't just sit back like that.
Allen also had a bad shooting night (3-8). KG was just 4-11, but I am fine with that when he pulls down 10 boards and adds in another 3 assists. If Paul Pierce has his normal night the Celtics win this game, but the scary part if the Mavericks were playing without Jason Kidd. The real scary thing is the Celtics are now 9 games into a season and do not have 1 quality win. I am no where near hitting the panic button since Pierce really hasn't got going yet, and their bench still needs some time playing with each other, but you have to be at least concerned that this team might not be a top seed this year.
