After watching Kobe Bryant suddenly look like he is 25 years old again, and scoring 40 points seemingly every night, it got be thinking about that experimental knee thing he had done over in Germany. It seems like it has really worked, because for most of last year Kobe looked hobbled, but now he looks like he is back in his prime.
For those that don't know this procedure here is what I found...
"A small amount of blood is drawn from the patient's arm and spun in a centrifuge for about 20 minutes to isolate platelets. With guidance from ultrasound, the platelets are then injected into the injured area to try to stimulate tissue repair."
The whole thing takes about a half hour, and now Kobe's knee seems to be as close to 100% as we have seen it. Makes me think that more guys should be doing this. There are rumors A-Rod had headed out there to try to find the fountain of youth, and I think more should follow. This is awesome if they can add years to great players career, because it's always a shame to see someone go down because their knee can't keep up. Imagine if Neely could've played longer, how about Bobby Orr?
Anyways, someone get KG on a plane.
