Lakers 88 Celtics 87 (OT)

Pretty crazy that this game went to OT, and yet neither team was able to break 90 points, but that's what happens when you have two of the best defensive teams in the league playing each other.

We can go over the last second shot by Pierce, or how Gasol blocked the Allen shot right after, but the story of this game was rebounding. Gasol and Bynum combined for 31 rebounds, that is almost as much as the entire Celtics starting 5.

Another story of the game is the back the Celtics only went to the line 5 times during the game, while the Lakers went 20 times. I would usually go crazy about refs, but I felt like the Celtics weren't getting to the basket. There was absolutely some missed calls, but for a guy like Rondo to be lined up against Fisher and only have a stat line of 14 points, 7 assists and 2 rebs just isn't good enough.

What also didn't help is KG going 6-23, but I am not going to get on him too hard, because I like when he is taking shots. I feel a lot of times he goes away from that and with this Celtics team and their struggles on offense they need him to be a weapon night in and night out.

I know the Celtics haven't beaten a "great team" yet, but this is a really tough matchup for them. There are not a lot of teams that have big guys like Gasol and Bynum, and to see the Celtics really have a chance to win this game actually gave me hope for the rest of the season. Peirce/KG won't shoot that bad again, so I think they could take this team.

Celtics get back at it tonight against the Raptors.
