Clouston Named Head Coach In Brandon

Former Sens head coach Cory Clouston, the new boss in Brandon
Former Senators coach Cory Clouston has finally landed his feet, coming aboard as the head coach of the WHL's Brandon Wheat Kings. He had been looking for work as an NHL assistant, but after no one offered him a gig, he has returned to junior hockey, where he had previously served as the bench boss of the Kootenay Ice. He will be replacing Kelly McCrimmon behind the bench.

While Clouston had success in his first season with the Sens, problems began to mount after, coming to a head with the Dany Heatley saga. It was widely known that triple C wasn't very popular in the dressing room with most players and he had worn out his welcome. The simple fact was players started to tune him out and with his personality, he is likely best suited for the junior game, where players are more willing to listen to what he has to say.

Interesting fact: A previous incarnation of the Brandon Wheat Kings played for the Stanley Cup in 1904 against the Ottawa Senators, with the Sens coming away with the W.
