NEW!! COURSE DESCRIPTIONS!!

i am super excited to announce that i will be hosting a series of classes at the essential ingredient cooking school, newcastle! their brand new, awesomely decked out class room is the perfect space to teach the super important technique of baking aswell as decorating!

i have arranged a series of courses designed to teach all of the fundamental techniques that i use in my designs. i have scheduled two classes for April and will schedule further classes if there is the demand.

April 1st - easter cookies, 10am-3pm, $275 
April 28th- cupcake basics, 10am-4pm, $275

pricing includes all ingredients and equipment required for the day and a delicious lunch provided by the essential ingredient cafe.

Cupcake Basics- buttercream and fondant
Baking
-bake your own cupcakes using naomi’s favourite vanilla bean cupcake recipe
- make buttercream icing

Decorating
-buttercream swirls
-working with food colours to dye fondant
-become confident working with fondant
-covering cupcakes with a smooth fondant finish
-making various sugar decorations
-perfect piping
- assembling

You will go home with 12 gorgeous (and delicious) cupcakes and skills to last a lifetime. The skills you learn in this class can be applied to decorating cupcakes, cookies and cakes. This class is suitable for all skill levels.

10- 4 pm  

Cookie Basics- Easter Cookies
In this class you will learn how to bake and decorate naomi's popular easter design. These make the sweetest handmade gift and the skills that you learn in this class can be applied to any shaped cookie for any occasion.

Baking
- naomi’s favourite sugar cookie recipe
- rolling and cutting out perfectly neat shapes

Decorating
-working with food colours to achieve the perfect shade for each part of your design
-become confident working with fondant
-perfect piping

Presentation
-packaging

You will go home with 12 super sweet cookies and skills to last a lifetime. The skills you learn in this class can be applied to decorating cupcakes, cookies and cakes. This class is suitable for all skill levels.

here are some new designs that i worked on recently, this time it is all about the flowers!! i love *trying* to replicate my favourite flowers with sugar, they take alot of time and patience and a very delicate hand... after 4 years of decorating i am still working on these things!

last weekend i was lucky enough to be asked by the lovely catherine and nhan from lily and bramwell to be a part of their stand at the newcastle city hall bridal expo! it was my first expo and it was alot of fun, our stand was very cute and we had an amazing response! thanks so much to everyone that came by and thanks so much to catherine and nhan for inviting me!! (how cute is that pic of them?!)

newcastle town hall wedding expo- this sunday!!

here is a little peek at my new wedding range that i have been working on this week! my new cakes will be on display as part of the lily and bramwell stand at the newcastle town hall wedding expo this sunday!! please come by and say hi- it is open between 10 and 3!

today i had the pleasure of meeting catherine and nhan from the event hire company lily and bramwell! i had SO MUCH fun looking through their AMAZING collection of furniture, tableware and decorative items, i could not believe my eyes finding such a treasure trove of props in newcastle!! i am so happy to have found them, they fill such a humungous void of stylish event hire in newcastle and the hunter valley, they also service sydney!

inpired by... greece!

 
i was so excited when i was asked to make a grecian inspired cake, i have had this design in my head since i visited samos island earlier this year. i was so inspired by all of the shades of blue and aqua and all of course all of the beautiful hydrangeas! the cake design ended up being quite simple, but i like it like that... everything was just so beautiful and simple there... *sigh*
and i have been sighing over this lovely pic in my pintrest collection for a while now...

sam and becs wedding cake!

last weekend i attended the wedding of my good friends sam and bec! it was a really fun wedding, held in the beautiful hunter valley vineyards on a really lovely spring afternoon... *sigh*... oh and i made them this *really big and really heavy* cake as their present!
here are a few photos from the day- i had a lot of fun taking a lot of photos of bubbles, i love the effect they had in the pics, so sweet!
