This about does it.... This takes the fucking cake. If nothing else proves the NFL and Roger Goodell are against the Steelers, this is it. Look at this picture on the final play in the Steelers/ Broncos game. There are 6 players on the line, and according to the NFL rules, there are supposed to be 7. So the play was an illegal formation and should have been called back.
The NFL rulebook says the following about offensive player positioning at the snap:
Article 1: Offensive Team. The offensive team must be in compliance with the following at the snap:
(a) It must have seven or more players on its line (3-18); and
(b) All players who are not on the line, other than the receiver of the snap under center, must be at least
one yard behind it.
(c) No player may be out of bounds.
The play was on the 20 yard line and the highlighted guy was on the 19. Technically not on the line of scrimmage.
Way to go Goodell, you sly fox.
I'm SHOCKED James Harrison didn't get fined for this illegal formation from the Broncos.
