Paul Westphal Fired

Paul Westphal was fired after a 2-5 start and a clash with DeMarcus Cousins. This is an obvious case of the ownership siding with the players over the coaches. Westphal has butted heads with DeMarcus Cousins and Tyreke Evans last year. Westphal finished with a 51-120 record in Sacramento.

I don't mind the firing, because 1. He's not that great of a coach, 2. The Kings should be better with that young talent, 3. If your coach is butting heads with everyone, maybe it's his fault.

Assistant Keith Smart will be taking over the team.

Celtics Call In About Cousins

So over the weekend DeMarcus Cousins threw a temper tantrum and apparently asked to be traded. So of course Danny Ainge was going to call The Kings and see his availability. Unlike a lot of people, I don't care about DeMarcus being a knucklehead and I believe in the whole being able to change/ Celtics way.

Of course since then, the Kings and Cousins have retracted all of the previous statements and my guess is that he stays in Sacramento, but I like the idea of having a young offensive minded center.
