This is a serious nonfiction book about all things paranormal. I'm keeping it as a reference guide but it's an enthralling read. If you're like me and ghosts are your thing but that doesn't preclude you from seeking info about all things paranormal including Bermuda Triangle, Bigfoot, Werewolves, UFOs and more, then this is your book.
I was pleased too that added in the end of the ghost stories were tips on how to hunt. What a great idea! It comes in hardback and Nook/Kindle, but honestly I love having the hardback because it's awesome on my shelf and I can grab it up and read about any subject any time I want to. It's broken up into fun easy to read portions so you can just read about one haunt or one incident and then go back later when you have time. Yes, we are all highly distracted these days.

A bizarre memo that appears to prove that aliens did land in New Mexico prior to 1950 has been published by the FBI.
The bureau has made thousands of files available in a new online resource called The Vault.
Among them is a memo to the director from Guy Hottel, the special agent in charge of the Washington field office in 1950.
Proof of (alien) life? A copy of the 1950 memo that recounts the discovery of flying saucers and aliens in New Mexico. The memo has been published on the FBI website
In the memo, whose subject line is 'Flying Saucers', Agent Hottel reveals that an Air Force investigator had stated that 'three so-called flying saucers had been recovered in New Mexico'.
The investigator gave the information to a special agent, he said. The FBI has censored both the agent and the investigator's identity.
Agent Hottel went on to write: 'They were described as being circular in shape with raised centers, approximately 50 feet in diameter.
'Each one was occupied by three bodies of human shape but only 3 feet tall,' he stated.
The bodies were 'dressed in a metallic cloth of a very fine texture. Each body was bandaged in a manner similar to the blackout suits used by speed flyers and test pilots.'
Was it true? An image allegedly showing one of the aliens that were autopsied at Roswell in 1947
He said that the informant, whose identity was censored in the memo, claimed the saucers had been found in New Mexico 'due to the fact that the Government has a very high-powered radar set-up in that area and it is believed the radar interferes with teh controlling mechanism of the saucers'.
He then stated that the special agent did not attempt to investigate further. The release of the secret memo is likely to fuel conspiracy theorists' claims of a government cover-up.
The town of Roswell in New Mexico became infamous after reports that a flying saucer had crashed in the desert near a military base there on or around July 2, 1947.

The headlines screamed: 'Flying Disc captured by Air Force.' Yet, just 24 hours later, the military changed their story and claimed the object they'd first thought was a 'flying disc' was a weather balloon that had crashed on a nearby ranch.
Amazingly, the media and the public accepted the explanation without question. Roswell disappeared from the news until the late Seventies, when some of the military involved began to speak out.
Another memo published in The Vault from 1947 claimed that an object 'purporting to be a flying disc' had been recovered near Roswell.
The disc was 'hexagonal in shape' and 'suspended from a balloon by a cable', according to the memo, marked as 'Urgent', to the FBI director.
Autopsy: A dead alien is allegedly examined following the landing at Roswell The memo noted that the disc resembled a weather balloon - but claimed that a telephone conversation between the Air Force and the field office 'had not [word censored] borne out this belief'.
The disc and balloon were being transported to Wright Field for further inspection, the memo noted.
It added that the information was being flagged up because of 'national interest' in the episode, and noting that both NBC and the AP were set to break the story that day.

BRUSSELS — An unidentified flying object photographed high in the Belgian sky that puzzled even NASA scientists turns out to have been a fake made out of foam, the man behind the hoax said Tuesday.
Though scientists pored over the picture of a triangular-shaped flying saucer with four lights, allegedly photographed in April 1990 by a young worker, the mystery remained intact until the man's revelation on the RTL-TVI network.
Made of polystyrene in a matter of hours and photographed that night, the picture was released after several sightings of UFOs over Belgium in 1989 and 1990.
Then aged 18, the man identified only as Patrick said he and a few friends "made it, painted it, hung it up and then photographed it".
The photo was the sharpest available to experts in a two-year period in which thousands of people across Belgium reported UFO sightings.
Several days after its release, a Belgian airforce plane was ordered to hunt down the UFOs across the country, but to no avail. Some believed the UFOs were new stealth fighters being tested by NATO.
"It's too easy to fool people, even with a cheap model," said Patrick, adding he had decided it was time to come clean.

UFO Sightings Over Denver, Colorado Area Under Investigation
They moved very slowly in a triangular formation across the sky then disappeared one at a time. We were in Lafayette, CO in my cousin's backyard facing west. The lights appeared to be approximately 3000-6000 feet high, coming from the West-Southwest and moving to the southeast. When they disappeared, they seemed to be directly over Denver. I was only visiting on my vacation, so I am not positive about the exact location or direction we were facing, but I am sure we were looking towards the west. We viewed the lights for approximately 15-20 minutes before they disappeared.
The witness, Leroy Vandervegt, 50, of Lafayette, CO, shot the video. Vandervegt and his 17-year-old son watched the lights together on March 21. Four reports of the same object were filed with the MUFON.
Colorado MUFON State Director Douglas Wilson concurred that five reports have been made so far on the lights, and that they are working on a very similar case from Grand County.
"At present, I have four of Colorado's best field investigators working these cases, (two have backgrounds in law enforcement and one is a forensic meteorologist) and I am coordinating the effort," Wilson stated. "We are making good headway and hope to 'stay-on-top' of this and be able to have some good quality data to show for our efforts when we are done. So far we have contacted all of the witnesses, Air Force, NORAD, local law enforcement, the forestry department, local airports and even helicopter training schools. We are also working on getting the media on which the original footage is stored on for photo analysis."
Many millions of people, it seems, have had encounters with alien beings. Many of those people do not realize that they are having these experiences because of suppressed memories. (i.e. small scoop indentation, straight line scar, scars in roof of mouth. in nose, behind or in ears, or genitals, etc. 4. Have seen balls of light or flashes of light in your home or other locations 5. Have a memory of flying through the air which could not be a dream. 6. Have a "marker memory" that will not go away (i.e.: alien face, examination, needle, table, strange baby, etc.) 7. Have seen beams of light outside your home, or come into your room through a window. 8. Have had dreams of UFOs, beams of light or alien beings. 9. Have had a UFO sighting or sightings in your life. 10. Have a cosmic awareness, an interest in ecology, environment, vegetarianism, or are very socially conscious. 11. Have a strong sense of having a mission or important task to perform, without knowing where this compulsion came from. 12. Have had unexplainable events occur in your life, and felt strangely anxious afterwards. 13. for women only: Have had false pregnancy or missing fetus. (pregnant, and then not) 14. Have awoken in another place than where you went to sleep, or don't remember ever going to sleep. (i.e. upside down in bed or in your car) 15. Have had a dream of eyes such as animal eyes (like an owl or deer), or remember seeing an animal looking in at you. Also if you have a fear of eyes. 16. Have awoken in the middle of the night startled. 17. Have strong reaction to cover of Communion or pictures of aliens. Either an aversion to or being drawn to. 18. Have inexplicably strong fears or phobias. (i.e. heights, snakes, spiders, large insects, certain sounds, bright lights, your personal security or being alone). 19. Have experienced self-esteem problem much of your life. 20. Have seen someone with you become paralyzed, motionless, or frozen in time, especially someone you sleep with. 21. Have awoken with marks, burns or bruises which appeared during the night with no explanation on how you could have possibly received them. 22. Have had someone in your life who claims to have witnessed a ship or alien near you or has witnessed you having been missing. 23. Have had, at any time, blood or an unusual stain on sheet or pillow, with no explanation of how it got there. 24. Have an interest in the subject of UFO sightings or aliens, perhaps compelled to read about it a lot, or an extreme aversion towards the subject. 25. Have been suddenly compelled to drive or walk to an out of the way or unknown area. 26. Have the feeling of being watched much of the time, especially at night. 27. Have had dreams of passing through a closed window or solid wall. 28. Have seen a strange fog or haze that should not be there. 29. Have heard strange humming or pulsing sounds, and you could not identify the source. 30. Have had unusual nose bleeds at any time in your life. Or have awoken with a nose bleed. 31. Have awoken with soreness in your genitals which can not be explained. 32. Have had back or neck problems, T-3 vertebrae out often, or awoken with an unusual stiffness in any part of the body. 33. Have had chronic sinusitis or nasal problems. 34.Have had electronics around you go haywire or oddly malfunction with no explanation (such as street lights going out as you walk under them, TV's and radios affected as you move close, etc.). 35. Have seen a hooded figure in or near your home, especially next to your bed. 36. Have had frequent or sporadic ringing in your ears, especially in one ear. 37. Have an unusual fear of doctors or tend to avoid medical treatment. 38. Have insomnia or sleep disorders which are puzzling to you. 39. Have had dreams of doctors or medical procedures. 40. Have frequent or sporadic headaches, especially in the sinus, behind one eye, or in one ear. 41. Have the feeling that you are going crazy for even thinking about these sorts of things. 42. Have had paranormal or psychic experiences, including intuition. 43. Have been prone to compulsive or addictive behavior. 44. Have channeled telepathic messages from extraterrestrials. 45. Have been afraid of your closet, now or as a child. 46. Have had sexual or relationship problems (such as a mysterious "feeling" that you must not become involved in a relationship because it would interfere with "something" important you must do). 47. Have to sleep against the wall or must sleep with your bed against a wall. 48. Have a difficult time trusting other people. Especially authority figures. 49. Have had dreams of destruction or catastrophe. 50. Have the feeling that you are not supposed to talk about these things, or that you should not talk about them. 51. Have tried to resolve these types of problems with little or no success. 52. Have many of these traits but can't remember anything about an abduction or alien encounter.
