Celtics @ Raptors Preview
It was a tough night for the Celtics last night, and I hate back-to-back games because of the Celtics age. Saying that, the Celtics have showed time and again that they are good at bouncing back from losses. Boston won four in a row following a 79-71 loss to Phoenix on Jan. 20, then posted five straight victories after an 88-87 defeat against Cleveland on Jan. 29. Playing the Raptors never hurts either.
The Celtics have played the Raptors twice already this year, and neither game has been close (BOS 96-73, and BOS 100-64). I think this game will be a bit closer after the Celtics have had to travel, and coming off an emotional loss.

I said this on twitter and I think this may have been the best of the season. The Celtics played against a bad Raptors team and beat them from start to finish like they should have. Everyone played a solid game, the starters didn't need to play too much (26 min the most) and we got to see what some of the young guys could do.
The offensive stats were unbelievable, they had 30 assists compared to only 10 turnovers and their 3 point shooting was crazy good going 12 for 24.
We also finally got to see what rookie JuJuan Johnson could do, he may be really skinny but the boy can score. He was 5-5 from the floor with 11 points and 2 rebounds in 10 minutes. You can tell he will be able to score in bunches with that mid range game and he is so wiry he can get rebounds because he won't be able to be boxed out.
This game was probably Avery Bradley's best year too. He had 11 points and just played stout defense the whole time. Avery Bradley can be a Tony Allen like role player for this playoff run.
I also believe that this bench is better than our bench in 07-08. They are deeper and just better.
Raptors @ Celtics Preview
Last night against the Cavs wasn't pretty, the game they lost to them earlier was worse, but we all need to recognize that the Celtics have won 5 of their last 6 games and are doing without Rondo.
There are some grumblings that Rondo could play tonight. He traveled with the team and Doc said... "With us, when you see a guy on the road, it means he's really close." So, maybe he will. That would be a huge boast for this team. They have been getting by with guys like Moore and Bradley, but it's just a matter of time before they will start feeling the effects of losing Rondo. I'd love to see him out there tonight, so he can get a game under his belt before the Celtics have to play the Knicks on Friday.
As for this game the Raptors are really bad. The Celtics beat them at the Garden 96-73. I don't usually like the Celtics playing on back-to-back days, but they are just a much better team then the Raptors (with or without Rondo). Last time these two teams played Bass had 13 points and 9 rebs, look for him to dominate down low again.

Finally, after losing 5 in a row, the Celtics throttled the hopeless Toronto Raptors. I know the Raptors are a really bad team, but a win is a win and we at least didn't struggle.
Celtics starters set the tone with a big 1st quarter and put the game away in the 3rd. And the guy who led that unit is Rajon Rondo, who was aggressive, got to the line and finished the night with 21 points and only 2 assists (that seems weird). I don't know if I will ever understand Rondo, because I feel he could easily average 16 to 18 points a game if he just played like last night. He got to the line 11 times last night (making 7 of them) and was just on fire. The only thing that slowed Rajon was a hard foul by Linas Klieza. Rajon was decked by Linas Kleiza late in the 3rd quarter. When he hit the floor he landed on his right wrist. But he toughed it out and Rondo was able to take his free throws. Kleiza was hit with a Flagrant 1 foul. It is just a "sore wrist" and because BMack and I were at the game we didn't know the seriousness of the injury.
Hopefully he will be fine.
Ray and Paul both had off nights again totaling for 14 points total, but Paul did have 7 assists. KG had 15 and Jermaine played alright with 8 and 7.
I don't know what I think about Jermaine O'Neal. I want to like him, but I just can't. He obviously has his best days behind him, but I feel there is something still there.
We FINALLY got to see Jujuan Johnson. I have been wanting to see him all year, and although the game was a blowout when he came in, I like his game. He has a pretty decent jumper and got 2 rebounds and a block in 6 minutes of play. I'd like to see more of him, but Doc has his weird ways about him.

Well the Cltics have now lost 5 in a row and are getting exactly what the doctor ordered in the Toronto Raptors. The Raptors are 4-10 and just plain awful. I expect 2 people to kill the Raptors tonight, Rajon Rondo who should blow past Jose Calderon and Paul Pierce who has a lot of extra motivation after reading and listening to the media. Rasual Butler should be guarding him for the most part and Paul should be able to score at will on them.
Although I would love to see KG take on soft as tissue Bargnani, I know he won't, but he could!
